SUPERFLEX Partitions

The Billingham SuperFlex partition system is at the heart of the bag’s camera protection. One of the great features of SuperFlex is that you can position the individual inserts anywhere you wish, thereby getting the most efficient use out of the interior of your particular bag. ( If positioned horizontally, the SuperFlex partition will create a “ shelf “ , which you can use to make a cradle, and support a camera/lens combination.

The concept of SuperFlex is that, when the bag moves, the SuperFlex inserts will “ adjust “ with that movement. Extremely well padded, SuperFlex is constructed using a closed-cell foam, encased in a non-abrasive AntiFray ripstop nylon material, and attaches to the interior of the bag by means of wide Velcro strips permanently affixed to the outside surface of the dividers.



​ SuperFlex is divided into two compartments, one square to take a lens, and the remaining space, depending on its size, to take another, smaller lens, or a flashgun, or other accessory. Choosing the correct size is easy ; all you need is the physical diameter and height of your lens/lenses. Superflex comes with most of the medium/larger bags. See individual specifications. Additional SuperFlex can be purchased to accommodate extra equipment, as needed.

An ingeneous idea, the Billingham lens cradle allows a camera/ lens combination to fit into many of the Billingham bags, offering total support for a camera with lens attached.

Sturdy Velcro tabs insure a tight fit onto the sides of your Billingham bag. Of course, the cradle is movable to any position in your bag, for shorter or longer lenses.

Manufactured of a closed-cell foam, the inside of the Billingham Lens Cradle will not deteriorate over time. In addition, it’s soft nylon exterior will not catch on any of your gear.

Avea and Delta Pockets

Avea and Delta Pockets offer the ability to greatly expand the carrying capacity of your Billingham bag.  Both versions are made of the same material as the bags themselves, , feature a soft, anti-fray nylon interior, drawcord interior closure and a secure snap exterior flap closure. As well, there is a divider flap, sewn into the interior of the pocket, which is ideal for the storage of memory cards or filters. In addition, both the Avea as well as the Delta pockets can be worn on the belt, and are ideal for carrying smaller digital still or video cameras, cell phones, or other essentials. ​

As well as the extra carrying space, Billingham Accessory pockets are esthetically pleasing, and give your Billingham Bag a truly “ finished “ look. Of course, all Accessory pockets are manufactured to the same exacting standards as the entire Billingham line.

As all bags are not made equal, the choice of which Billingham bag to choose can depend on a few factors….do you wish a bag that decidedly DOES NOT look like a camera bag ? Are you interested in a compact, trim kit, ready for a single day’s shoot, or do you wish to pack the entire range of gear you have, and be ready for any shooting situation ? Do you wish to have you camera “ ready to go ?  “, complete with your favorite lens attached ? Finally, will you be using your Billingham as a camera bag only, or will it be doing “ double-duty “ as a travel bag, with room to fit a laptop, e-reader, paperbook, passport, etc ?

This will give you a few ideas about how to utilize a particular Billingham bag. Of course, there are any amount of ways to put your gear into a Billingham. These configurations shown are meant to give you a small idea of the variety of ways to put your Billingham bag together.

One thing to note is that, because of the soft-sided nature of our bags, an amazing amount of gear can fit comfortably into their interior. Ample padding and the use of the superflex partitioning system can greatly aid in the configuration that is right for you.
