Cullmanns latest version of the well known Magic tripod ( model# CU-53583 ) has newly been updated. ​

While the technical characteristics have remained relatively the same ( see specifications below ) the tripod itself now comes in a professional black anodization with red accents. This is one good looking tripod !

Meant primarily as a travel-pod, the Magic folds flat, and, with its center column inverted for storage, can easily fit into a small piece of luggage, or, more important for todays travel photographer, a backpack. Finally, as a bonus feature, one of the tripods legs ( clearly delineated ) unscrews and attaches to the center column, turning it into a full height monopod ! In addition, the center column can be placed, inverted into the main center portion of the tripod to be used for macro or copy work

One of the "Magic" features of this tripod is that all legs, once extended to their desired length, are locked by simply holding the topmost section of the tripod leg and¼ "turn to the right." This action locks ALL legs firmly. To undo the legs, each section must be held and turned ¼ turn to the left to unlock.

The Cullmann CB 6.3 Ballhead comes packaged with the Magic, and gives you the option of mounting your camera on a round, rubberized platform, or by simply attaching the ( CU-40440 ) Quick Release platform, using the CB 6.3 head as a Quick Release Unit, complete with two levels, and a QR Plate, which mounts onto the bottom of your camera. The CB 6.3 Head comes with a ¼ mounting stud, which can be removed to reveal a 3/8 mounting stud. A spring-loaded tightening handle allows multi positions for easier grab . The tightening handle also controls the pan mechanism.
